I was born in 1960 in Darmstadt/Germany.

My first steps on the guitar I already made in 1968. Unfortunately it didn't really work out (although I had a book called "Play guitar in 12 hours". Even after 25 hours in couldn't play the guitar). But I caught fire.

My second attempt I made in 1973. This time on the bass guitar. But before I was good enough to play in a band, I switched to the 6-string guitar in 1975. I was very impressed by Roye Albrighton of the ProgRock Band Nektar. I also had the great opportunity to learn from him personally.

After that I took lessons by Armin Strecker, the Darmstadt local hero at that time. I played in several local bands, plentiful sessions and also has some recording jobs at a Frankfurt music studio.

In 1990 my medical studies came to the fore and I played less and less guitar. During the final exams, the doctorate and the long phase as assistant doctor I did not play at all. In the year 2000 I was assistant doctor in Paderborn. It was the first time after more than a decade when I found time to play the guitar again. The beginning hurt, but since then I played regularly again.

In 2002 I moved to Berlin for professional reasons. There I also played for the first time again in bands, both on the guitar as well as on the bass.

Autumn 2008 changed my life completely. I participated in "Peter Couras Burgseminar". For 3 1/2 days I stayed with many more guitarists in an old castle, playing guitar all the time and learned a lot by the lecturer Peter Wölpl. Those three days impressed me that much that back in Berlin in started to look for a guitar teacher. Already at the second attempt I met Haymo Doerk, where I took lessons for 3 years.

In 2011, I gave up my medical profession and decided to focus exclusively on music from now on.

The desire to study at the GIT in Los Angeles was quickly expelled from my wife, but she would have liked to come with me to Boston. That's why I applied to the Berklee College of Music in Boston and took part in an audition in January 2011. Unfortunately, I have not been accepted, although I m. E. did not present so badly.

At the same time I looked for an alternative within Germany and applied at the RP JAM next to Gießen. Amongst others, there is Peter Fischer, a guitarist who has published many excellent textbooks. Peter was the reason for me to go there. And that was worth it for me; he's a fantastic teacher and an extremely nice guy on top of that.

In July 2014, I successfully completed my training at RP JAM and am allowed to use the beautiful (German-bureaucratic) title

"Certified instrumental musician with stage maturity and music educator".

And because you never really complete learning, I attended the extra-occupational course "The electric guitar in class" in the "Berufsakademie für musikalische Jugendbildung" in Trossingen, which I successfully completed in December 2016.
